About Us

At Christ Church Waterkloof (CCW) with Jesus as the head of our church, we strive to be disciple-making disciples.

It all started in January 2014, in someone’s braai room. Twenty of us, selected to go and plant a church. We met under the shared vision for CCW, not built on programs and projects, but on people and relationships.

As a growing and diverse family of believers, we live to see everything being put under the authority of Jesus Christ, the source of true life.
We see this body of believers grow throughout the whole of the Helderberg through genuine friendships, authentic community and in the everyday stuff of life.

Through relationships built around common interests, deliberate outreach efforts, and coordinated mission trips, we seek to share the good news of Jesus Christ with others.

Meet the Team
Renier du Plessis | Minister
Renier joined CCW in January 2020. By the end of 2020 he was asked to take over the leadership of the congregation as the current leader accepted a call to serve in Table View. He has a heart for teaching others how to interpret the Bible and finds great encouragement from the Christian fellowship through CCW’s men’s ministry. Renier is married to Dalina. They have three children who all fans of FC Barcelona, which makes their father very proud.
Jean | Children’s Ministry Coordinator
Jean has been a member of CCW since it began in 2014. Jean is happily married to her husband Niel and they have 3 children, Emily, Rachel and Timothy. Jean loves working with children and has been a primary school teacher for many years. After taking a break to spend time with her young children, she now teaches preschool and is the Children’s Ministry Coordinator for Christchurch Waterkloof.
Yvonne | Administrator
Yvonne and her family have been members at CCW since the church plant in 2014. Yvonne is married to Robert and they have 3 children Thomas, James and Lauren. Yvonne enjoys serving at the church in many ways. She enjoys spending time with her family, walking at the beach, gardening and watching a good crime series.
